GOALS  400

Background for Scrapbook Project

You will use a digital camera, a scanner, and other development tools commonly available. You are going to make a scrapbook about and for yourself ..... the only difference is that it will be an electronic scrapbook, ultimately posted on the Internet

Specific Instructions

Important:

When you are saving ALL your files (sounds, webpages, images, etc.), DO NOT USE SPACES OR SYMBOLS IN YOUR FILENAMES. Get used to use inly lowercase letters, that way you keep consistent with all filenames. Many ISPs are case sensitive, so there is a difference between uppercase and lowercase letters. If you use spaces your files will NOT come up when viewed online. A similar thing happens if the computer is trying to look for a name that has a different latter case, those files will not appear. BE CONSISTENT: NO SPACES, USE ONLY LOWERCASE.

What to include in the Scrapbook

You will be using Paint, the digital camera, .midi files, scanner, .wav files, and original sound clips. Here are some of the features that you may want to include but do not limit your features of your scrapbook to this list:
  • A striking and creative cover
    • You can use Paint (you are going to have each learn to use this tool later in the course .... you can begin now), digital photos, graphics, animation, video, anything creative.
    • The cover should show, somehow, your name and GOALS 400
    • Your cover has to have some kind of sound! It should include a .midi or .wav file
  • Some kind of Table of Contents page with icon links
  • At least five webpages about you
    • You have to show pictures of you working on the project
    • You can have MORE than five pages, but you have to have at least five.  You can organize the pages in any way you want.  For example, MY HOBBIES,  MY FAMILY,  MY EARLY LIFE,  MY PETS, MY FRIENDS, MY CAR, MY JOB, MY SUMMER VACATION.... something like that.  You can so ME, AGE 0-10; Me, AGE 11-21.   These are just ideas.
  • The scrapbook should include photos, media, and  your voice in an original sound clip
    • It should tell a little about you as a person
    • You can let each page be a unique, individual page OR have a standard template for the pages; that part is up to you
  • Most people pick a THEME for their scrapbook, using graphics, music, color, etc. to follow the theme
  • Your scrapbook must actually be posted on the Internet before it can be graded.
