What is a .midi file?

How do you get something like this or this to play on a homepage or in a powerpoint? Or maybe you want to send a friend an email to celebrate Cinco de Mayo so you attach this

First of all, to answer WHAT ARE .MIDI FILES? click on the question itself, which takes you to http://www.emTech.net where you can use the TECHNOLOGY ENCYCLOPEDIA to get a definition.... but you probably have the general idea by now if you have listened to something like this

The next question, HOW DO YOU GET SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO PLAY ON A HOMEPAGE OR IN A POWER POINT? is equally easy to answer.

FIRST, you have to find some .midi files that you want to save. Here's one place you can go to find .midi files:

http://www.aitech.ac.jp/~ckelly/midi/help/midi-search.html

Visit it and just see what you can find.

Examples of .midi files

Here are some sample .midi files; click on each one and listen
