Converting PowerPoints to HTML for Web Use


 1.  Once you have created your Powerpoint presentation, you can Save it to an HTML file for Web
     use.
 2.  Open up your  powerpoint file and then Click on File and Save As HTML.

 3.  You will then get the following screen.

 4.  This is a wizard template to help step you through the process of converting your PPT to HTML.
      Click Next to take you to the next screen of the wizard,

 5.  The next screen will ask you to choose an existing layout or create a new layout.  Choose New layout
      and Click Next.

 6.  Select the Standard Layout and Click on Next.  For all of our UA Class Projects, we are not
      going to use Frames.

 

 7.  You will asked next to select your graphic type, GIF or JPEG.  Select Gif and Click on Next.
      **Gif's load faster on the net.

 8.  You will now select the graphic size based on monitor resolution.  Select 800x600 (1/2 screen) and
      Click on Next.

    

 9.  The next screen will allow you to enter your email address, home page URL, a description of the
      powerpoint presentation, and the option for a user to download your original Powerpoint so they
      can use it on their own computer using MSOffice Powerpoint.  Click Next.

10.  You can now select what browser colors you want for text, links, and visited links.  Select Use
      browser colors and Click Next.

11.  The next screen allows you to select the navigation button style that will be used for a user to move
      forward, backward, etc., in your presentation.  Select the smaller button with the arrow as shown
      below and Click Next.

12.  You will now select where you want the navigation buttons to be located on your presentation.
      Choose below the presentation and Click Next.

    

13.  Now you will see:  Create HTML Folder in:  You can Browse and select the drive letter and/or
       subdirectory the html files will be placed and Click on Next.

14.  You will now Click on Next to Finish Saving your PPT presentation to an HTML File.  You will see
      get the following screen.  You can save all of your settings (Type in a name) so that when you want
      to convert a PPT file to HTML, all of the saved setting will be there for you to use again.  The
     Wizard will come up, but with the pre-saved selections.  You will just click on Next for each screen.

15.  You will see PPT converting each of the slides and you will get a message that the files have been
       converted succesfully.
