Saving the movie

(1). Once all editing has been finished, it's time to save the movie. Go to file > Save Movie File on the menu bar.

 

 

 

 

 

(2). Here is a list of different places you can save the movie file. Right now, we are going to save it on My Computer, so select "My computer" and click next.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(3). Enter a file name for your movie in the first box, then select the folder where you want to save the file in the second box.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(4). To save the file the highest quality possible, click the "Other settings" button, the click on the drop down box to give the options (as shown). The one you want to select is "DV-AVI". This file type will be big, but there will be no quality loss. If you don't want the file as big, you can select one of the other options, but the file type will be of a different type that might not play on your computer.

For DV-AVI, a 4 minute movie will be about 800MB, so you can see that with lots of content, a file will be huge, but you will be able to play it in Windows Media Player.

 

Click "Next" to save your file.
