Editing the Captured Image
In digital imaging, half the fun comes after you've taken the picture. The Digital Cameras gives you the flexibility to crop, enlarge, reduce, brighten, darken, or add a silly face on to your best friend, using the photo software supplied with the Digital Cameras.
You can also view, manipulate and share your images through Sony's ImageStationSM Web site.
Saving the Captured Image
Once you press the Digital Camera shutter button, your images are stored and can be accessed quickly and easily at any time by setting the camera to the "play" mode, and viewing the images on the LCD display.
The Digital Camera saves images in three different digital file formats:
JPEG, TIFF, BMP or MPEG.
While all three of these file formats can be read by most photo software, use the .JPEG format for still photographs and the MPEG format for your moving pictures.
Avoid using the TIFF format.Use the Bit-Map Mode only when you need to save images in a non-compressed format which will give you a better image but a larger file size.
Your files can be saved to any 3.5" standard computer disk.
With this format you can take your images directly to your PC to send them via email or manipulate them with the supplied photo image software.
E-mailing Captured Images
Most Sony Digital Cameras can save your images in "e-mail mode," meaning they'll create an image that is optimized to be sent via the Internet. Images saved this way can be sent quickly and are quicker to upload and download.
E-Mail ModeWhole Disk Copy
Need to send images over the Internet? For still images, E-mail mode reduces the size of your file to 1/4 the standard file 320 x 240 for fast Internet downloads. To send MPEG files over the Internet, the E-mail mode will reduce the image size to 160 x 112. Now your pictures or videos will be sent with ease and speed.
Whole Disk Copy lets you make a copy of your pictures right inside the camera.
Simply select the Disk Copy from the menu with your original disk in the camera and the Mavica will save images in temporary memory.
Place a new disk in and you have an exact copy of all your pictures to share with anyone.
You are not limited to just pictures, Excel®, PowerPoint® and
Word® files can be copied from disk to disk
